McLaren's director's analysis of Christian Horner's dismissal: "I may be surprised by the timing, but not by the outcome."

Following the sudden dismissal of Christian Horner as CEO of the Red Bull team, just days after the 2025 British GP, one of his greatest rivals, Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren , has reviewed what happened at the energy drink team.

" I might be surprised by the timing, but not by the outcome . I think there's been a lot of drama there over the last couple of years, and it doesn't seem like it's calmed down, maybe it's gotten worse," Brown told Canadian television channel TSN .

On July 9, Red Bull announced Horner's departure as team principal and CEO after two decades at the helm of the Formula 1 team, a period in which the team won 14 world championships . His departure came 17 months after an employee accused him of "inappropriate behavior," accusations the British engineer always denied, and has been exonerated on two occasions.

Horner was the youngest F1 team principal when he took charge of the team in 2005 , and is responsible for two periods of dominance in the sport, with Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen both winning four consecutive Drivers' titles.

Brown believes Horner could return to motorsport in the future. "Given his age and his history in motorsport, I'd be surprised if he didn't feature somewhere in motorsport . But I don't know his other interests, if he wants to manage a football team or whatever. So we'll see," he concluded.
